The Asian Equestrian Federation Cup-Youth (AEF Cup CSIY-B) kicked off in Bengaluru, India, with a thrilling display of talent. Chennai’s 18-year-old Surya Aditya secured a silver medal in Round 1, completing the 11-obstacle, 1.15m show jumping course in 71.42 seconds without any penalties. He finished just behind Iran’s Mollaafzal, who won gold. Fabiola Chong took bronze with a time of 79.99 seconds.

Out of 12 riders, only 8 completed the challenging course. Myanmar’s Kyaw Uwnna Aung finished fourth with a faultless round in 89.66 seconds, followed by Thailand’s Papungkorn Pabbamnan at 92.50 seconds. Cambodia’s Menglong Rinda and Malaysia’s Muhammad Nazirul Amsyar both incurred penalty points, affecting their rankings. India’s Avik Bhatia also faced penalties, finishing in 74.40 seconds.

EFI Secretary General Col. Jaiveer Singh expressed pride in the participants, highlighting the event’s significance as it returns to India after 14 years. Unfortunately, some riders faced eliminations due to refusals and falls, while Saudi Arabia’s Madhy A A H Alkhamis retired midway.

The event, held at Surge Stables, features riders from 11 countries and runs from October 11 to 13, promising more exciting performances.
