Surat Building Collapse: Seven Bodies Found, One Woman Rescued

In Surat, Gujarat, a five-storey building collapsed, leading to the recovery of seven bodies from the debris. A woman was safely rescued.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred around 3:55 p.m. on Saturday. The Surat Fire and Emergency Services, led by Chief Fire Officer Basant Pareek, received information about the collapse and rushed to the spot with around 20 fire officers and the administration.

Rescue Operations

Chief Fire Officer Pareek stated, “During the operation, we heard a woman’s voice from beneath the debris. After digging out the debris, the firemen safely rescued her. We continued the search operation and have so far recovered seven bodies.”

He added that there are no reports of any more missing persons, but the search operation is still underway.
