Suraj Revanna, Son of HD Revanna, Accused in Sexual Assault Case

A case has been registered against Suraj Revanna, a member of the Janata Dal (Secular) and son of HD Revanna, for alleged sexual assault. The complaint was filed by a party worker at the Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district, Karnataka.

The complainant alleges that on June 16, Suraj Revanna sexually assaulted him at Suraj’s farmhouse in Gannikada village. The FIR states that Suraj had noticed the complainant’s work during the Lok Sabha polls and invited him to his farm. Once there, Suraj allegedly confined the complainant in a room and assaulted him, promising political advancement in return. When the complainant resisted, Suraj threatened him with dire consequences.

On June 17, the complainant informed Suraj’s aide, Shivu, about the incident. Shivu allegedly threatened the complainant to keep quiet and offered him money and a job. Fearing for his life, the complainant fled to Bengaluru and filed a written complaint with the Director General of Police on June 19. The Holenarasipura Rural police station registered the complaint later that evening.

This incident follows the arrest of Suraj’s elder brother, Prajwal Revanna, who is also facing allegations of sexual assault. Prajwal was remanded to judicial custody by a special court in Bengaluru after being arrested at Kempegowda International Airport.
