Supriya Sule mentioned that according to government data, crime has increased in Maharashtra. She highlighted cases like the Porsche case and drug issues, emphasizing that crimes against women have risen significantly.

Government Response

Sule criticized the government’s delayed response to the Badlapur incident. She also mentioned the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana, where the government gives Rs 1500 to women, but some women said they would rather have safety than money.

Police Action

The Maharashtra Police arrested over 40 people and registered an FIR against 300 following the protests. The protests led to stone-pelting, train service disruptions, and police lathi-charges. The arrested individuals will be presented in court soon.

Security has been increased at the railway station, and internet services in Badlapur have been suspended to prevent rumors. Shops have also been ordered to remain closed.

DCP Manoj Patil of the Railway Police stated that the situation is now normal, and train services have resumed. Internet services will remain suspended for a few days.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the incident and announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate. He also ordered the suspension of several police officers who delayed action. Fadnavis assured that the case would be fast-tracked to ensure justice.
