According to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prashant Kumar, five individuals were arrested in connection with the Bahraich violence. Two of them, Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talib, were injured while trying to escape to Nepal. The police shot them in the leg during the attempt. The other three, Abdul Hameed, Fahim, and Abdul Afzal, were also taken into custody. The situation is now under control.

SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shukla, stated that the police acted in self-defense when Sarfaraz and Talib fired at them. The police retaliated, resulting in injuries to the two accused. All five individuals are now in custody, and further action is being taken.
