Supreme Court Summons Punjab and Haryana Chiefs Over Stubble Burning

The court also highlighted the Punjab government’s inaction under the Air Prevention Act 1981, emphasizing the ongoing air pollution issue. The Chief Secretaries are required to appear in court to address these concerns. Additionally, the court pointed out the lack of qualified members in the Commission and absenteeism in its meetings, demanding explanations and actions.
