Alakh Pandey Speaks Out
Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wallah, shared that the Supreme Court is looking into the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak. The Chief Justice of India believes the paper was leaked and wants to find out how widespread it is.
Details of the Investigation
The court has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the central government to provide information within three days. They need to explain:
- When the paper was prepared
- Which committee prepared it
- How the paper was circulated to centers
The court wants to know if the leak was a systematic failure or due to individual actions.
Supreme Court’s Questions
Advocate Shwetank mentioned that the Supreme Court has asked the NTA and Union Government to answer several questions, including:
- How the paper traveled
- When it was sent to the examination center
- When it was distributed to students
The court observed that if segregation is possible, a re-examination might not be necessary.
Further Actions
The Supreme Court has directed the NTA to identify candidates who benefited from the leak and to disclose details about the leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been asked to file a status report on the investigation.
Senior Advocate Narender Hooda stated that the petitioner’s arguments for canceling the exam and holding a fresh one have been recorded. The NTA, CBI, and Union Government must file affidavits to indicate if tainted candidates can be separated from untainted ones.
The court also asked the NTA to identify the centers or cities where the leak occurred.
