Supreme Court Grants Bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Excise Policy Case

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Advocate Somnath Bharti welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case. Bharti said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) attempt to keep Kejriwal away from election campaigning for the upcoming assembly polls has failed.

Bharti expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court, stating, ‘Everyone hoped that Kejriwal would get bail in this case, as he already got bail in the matter of the ED. I want to thank the Supreme Court for granting bail to Kejriwal.’

Advocate and Vice-chairperson of the Delhi Bar Association Sanjeev Nasiar described the verdict as a ‘big day of relief.’ He noted that Kejriwal must follow certain conditions, including not making general comments on the CBI case, as it is still under judicial consideration. ‘He has to remain present in the court whenever called. He would be able to campaign. We will soon see him in Delhi and then in Haryana,’ Nasiar added.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by the CBI related to the alleged excise policy scam. The court emphasized that prolonged incarceration amounts to an unjust deprivation of liberty.
