Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Against Former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi

In New Delhi, the Supreme Court of India dismissed a petition filed by Arun Ramchandra Hublikar against former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi. The bench, consisting of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma, was not convinced by Hublikar’s arguments. Despite the court’s disinterest, Hublikar insisted on being heard, leading to a heated exchange. The court eventually called security to escort him out of the courtroom.

Hublikar claimed that his life was made difficult by ex-CJI Gogoi’s interference in a favorable order regarding his illegal termination. However, the court found no merit in his case and advised him against using the judge’s name. The court warned Hublikar of potential costs and expressed its inability to interfere. Despite warnings, Hublikar continued to address the court, resulting in his removal by security.

This incident was not Hublikar’s first encounter with the court’s displeasure. Previously, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud had questioned him for involving a judge as a party in a case.
