Sadhguru and Supporters Celebrate Verdict

In New Delhi, the Supreme Court dismissed a case against the Isha Foundation, led by spiritual leader Sadhguru. The case involved allegations that two women monks were being held against their will. The court, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, found that the women, aged 39 and 42, were residing at the ashram voluntarily and were free to leave.

Sadhguru expressed relief, emphasizing the need for responsible use of democratic privileges. He criticized the misuse of court time on baseless petitions. Supporters Maa Mayu and Maa Mathi also welcomed the decision, expressing gratitude for the support from Isha volunteers and Sadhguru during the trial.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi confirmed the closure of the case, stating that the Isha Foundation was not found to be holding anyone captive. The Supreme Court’s decision followed the transfer of the case from the Madras High Court, which had previously ordered an inquiry into the ashram.
