Supreme Court Addresses Stipend Issue for Foreign Medical Graduates

This decision was made by a bench consisting of Justice BR Gavai and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra.
The plea was filed by the Association of Doctors and Medical Students for colleges in Kerala, and by the FMGs themselves for colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Advocate Tanvi Dubey represented the petitioners, who argued that the non-payment of stipends violates their fundamental rights. They highlighted the unfair treatment compared to other colleges that do provide stipends, and emphasized the need for equal treatment between Indian and foreign medical graduates.
The Supreme Court has now tagged these petitions with other pending cases related to FMG stipend payments, indicating further examination and potential resolution of the issue.
