Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar Named Ambassador of Korean Tourism 2024 in Seoul
Anand Kumar, the founder of Super 30, was appointed as the Ambassador of Korean Tourism 2024 at a special event in Seoul, South Korea. The ceremony took place at the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) headquarters in Segye-ro, Wonju-si, Gangwon State on August 23.
The executive vice president of the International Tourism Division, KTO, Hakju Lee, administered the oath to Anand Kumar. Lee mentioned that Kumar was chosen due to his immense popularity in both India and Korea for his pioneering work with students from underprivileged sections of society.
Lee stated, “The objective is to use this opportunity to let the youth of India and Korea know each other, understand each other’s culture, education, and more, to be partners in the growth and prosperity of both nations and contribute to happy and peaceful living on the planet.”
Later in the day, Kumar received a hero’s welcome from the youth at another event. His popularity was evident during a discussion on his book Super 30 at Seoul University, which led to the making of the movie Super 30 starring Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The book has also been translated into Korean.
The writer of the book, Dr. Biju Mathew, flew in from Canada to attend the function. Anand Kumar took questions from the audience and shared his journey. He expressed his surprise and joy at the popularity of Super 30 in Korea, saying, “I did not have any idea that Super 30 is so popular in Korea and that so many people have read the book. I will cherish the moment for a long time.”
Kumar looks forward to contributing meaningfully through the KTO opportunity, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and giving back to society. He said, “For me, it is a great honour, especially because of the respect given to a teacher. It is an honour not only for me as an individual but for teachers in general and underlines how one’s passionate and selfless work can bring recognition from far and wide.”
Sharing a post on August 26, Kumar wrote, “It was a moment to cherish for a lifetime for me when the international vice president of the South Korean Tourism Organisation (KTO), Mr. Hakju Lee, designated me the Ambassador of Korean Tourism at a function in Seoul.”
Korea has also introduced the Korea Super 30 travel packages to allow young students to visit the country, explore opportunities, and get acquainted with the culture.
