Sunita Kejriwal Criticizes PM Modi Over Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest
Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, launched a strong criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after her husband’s arrest by the CBI. She took to social media to express her frustration, stating, ‘Till now the prayer has always been that God should give wisdom to everyone. But now the prayer will be that the dictator should be destroyed.’
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is boycotting the President’s address to both houses of Parliament, alleging a conspiracy behind Kejriwal’s arrest. AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated, ‘We will definitely boycott the President’s address because this is not the President’s own statement, rather she reads the government’s statement.’
On Wednesday, the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi sent Arvind Kejriwal to three days of CBI remand in connection with the Excise policy case. The court allowed Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to meet him for 30 minutes and his lawyer to meet him daily for 30 minutes. Kejriwal is also permitted to carry his prescribed medicines during the remand period.
During the hearing, Kejriwal addressed the court, denying claims that he made a statement against Manish Sisodia. He said, ‘Manish Sisodia is innocent, Aam Aadmi Party is innocent. I am also innocent. Statements are being given in the media to defame us.’
The Delhi High Court stayed Kejriwal’s bail order, stating that the trial court should have recorded its satisfaction with the conditions of Section 45 of the Prevention of the Money Laundering Act (PMLA) before passing the order.
