Sunil Jakhar Responds to Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s Allegations Against BJP

Chandigarh, Punjab – June 27: After Shiromani Akal Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal accused some BJP members of trying to destabilize her party, Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar responded by saying that the BJP should not be blamed for SAD’s internal issues. Jakhar attributed the turmoil to SAD’s electoral losses in Punjab, suggesting that many leaders see a bleak future under Sukhbir Singh Badal’s leadership.

Jakhar stated, “This is the result of the Lok Sabha elections. All kinds of allegations are being made without taking responsibility and without assessing their shortcomings.” He added that SAD’s failure in the elections should not be blamed on the BJP.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal claimed that BJP stooges tried to break SAD but failed, and that most of the party members still support Sukhbir Singh Badal. She said, “Out of the 117 leaders, only 5 are against Sukhbir Badal while 112 leaders are standing with the party and Sukhbir Badal.”

Meanwhile, SAD’s Working Committee has expressed full faith in Sukhbir Singh Badal’s leadership. The committee urged detractors not to play into the hands of the party’s enemies and asked the president to lead efforts to expose conspiracies against the party.

SAD Delhi unit president Paramjit Singh Sarna accused the BJP of trying to weaken regional parties through “Operation Lotus.” He challenged the BJP to a debate to prove his allegations.

Senior SAD leaders, including Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Bibi Jagir Kaur, have demanded a change in leadership following the party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections. They expressed concerns over the party’s future and criticized Sukhbir Singh Badal for not listening to their suggestions.

Daljit Singh Cheema, another SAD leader, said the party is reviewing its performance and remains strong and disciplined. Balwinder Singh Bhundal, a core committee member, stated that 99% of the members support Sukhbir Singh Badal and there is no question of forming an alliance with the BJP in the future.
