Sunil Ambekar Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on Hindutva in Parliament

New Delhi, July 1: Sunil Ambekar, the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), expressed his disappointment over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments about the Hindu community. Ambekar stated that it is ‘unfortunate’ for people in responsible positions to associate Hindutva with violence.

During a debate in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of attacking the idea of India and the Constitution. He claimed that those who resisted this attack were personally targeted, with some leaders even jailed. Gandhi also criticized the BJP, saying it does not represent the entire Hindu society.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded by saying that linking violence with any religion is wrong and demanded an apology from Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also commented, emphasizing the importance of taking the Leader of Opposition seriously in a democracy.

Rahul Gandhi, in his first speech as Leader of Opposition, also criticized the government over the Agniveer scheme.
