Exciting Races at the West Zone National Rally Sprint Championship in Pune
The Nanoli Speedway in Pune, Maharashtra, was buzzing with excitement as over 95 participants competed in the monsoon sprint rally on Saturday. This event marked the third round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship 2024 for two-wheelers.
Top Performers
GS Amogh Nag and Suhail Ahmed were the standout performers. In the Open up to 550cc class, GS Amogh Nag clocked a time of 7:16.000, narrowly beating Suhail Ahmed, who finished at 7:16.100. Badal Doshi came in third with a time of 7:32.300.
In the Privateer up to 550cc class, Suhail Ahmed took the lead with a time of 7:06.300, followed by GS Amogh Nag at 7:12.400 and Chetan Hosatti at 7:12.400.
Other Notable Performances
Rajesh Swami was named the fastest rider from Maharashtra in the Star of Maharashtra 260cc class, finishing with a time of 7:41.100. He was followed by Nitish Chaudhari and Hitesh Sharma.
Suhail Ahmed also excelled in the Bullet up to 550cc class, finishing 30 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, Shajeer Ishmail, and Chetan Hosatti.
In the scooter up to 210cc class, Venkatesh Shetty finished first, followed by Lokesh Bhosale and Niraj Wanjale.
Special Mentions
In the Ladies up to 260cc class, Tanaya Singh finished almost a minute ahead of Sagarika Naidu. The veterans class saw Amarendra Sathe finish first, followed by Ajit Patel and Mohan Sethiya.
Upcoming Rounds
The championship will move to Indore for Round 4 on October 5, 2024, followed by Round 5 in Guwahati on November 24, 2024. The season will conclude with the finals in Pune or Bangalore on December 14-15, 2024.
