Sudarsan Pattnaik Creates Lord Shiva Sand Art for Raksha Bandhan at Puri Beach
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a beautiful sand sculpture of Lord Shiva at Puri Beach in Odisha. This day also marked the last Monday of the auspicious Sawan month.
Pattnaik shared his creation on X, wishing for Lord Shiva’s blessings on every brother and sister celebrating the festival. He posted, “On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and last Monday of the holy month of ‘Sawan’. May Lord Shiva bless all brothers and sisters. My SandArt at Puri beach in Odisha.”
Sudarsan Pattnaik is a Padma Shri awardee, India’s 4th highest civilian award. He runs a sand art school at Puri Beach and has participated in more than 65 international sand art competitions, winning many accolades for the country. Pattnaik uses his art to spread awareness on various social issues such as HIV, AIDS, global warming, stopping terrorism, beating plastic pollution, COVID-19, and saving the environment.
Raksha Bandhan, commonly known as Rakhi, is a traditional Hindu festival celebrating the love and bond between brothers and sisters.
