Statue of Kargil Hero Capt Haneef Uddin Unveiled at Kerala School
A statue of Capt Haneef Uddin, a brave officer of the Rajputana Rifles and Vir Chakra awardee, was unveiled at his former school in Kerala. The ceremony took place on Friday and was attended by Lt Gen ADS Aujla, Colonel of the Rajputana Rifles, along with other dignitaries.
Capt Haneef Uddin heroically sacrificed his life during the Kargil war in the Turtuk area of Ladakh. His bravery earned him the prestigious Vir Chakra award posthumously.
The statue was dedicated by Lt Gen ADS Aujla, who praised Capt Haneef Uddin’s courage and selflessness. The event aimed to inspire students with the values of bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Ex-students of the school organized the event and established four scholarships of Rs 15,000 each in Capt Haneef Uddin’s name. The ceremony included a wreath-laying, scholarship distribution, and an inspiring speech by Lt Gen Aujla. School students, teachers, and alumni attended to pay their respects to the fallen hero.
