As India prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, the streets of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir are beautifully illuminated with tricolour lights. The bridge on the Chenab River in Doda is also lit up in the national colours.

Har Ghar Tiranga Walkathon

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ walkathon in Srinagar. People participated enthusiastically, holding flags and showing their patriotism.

Tiranga Rally on Chenab River

On Tuesday, a Tiranga Rally was held with a 750-metre-long tricolour on the world’s highest railway bridge on the Chenab River in Reasi district. Reasi Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan said, “We wanted to present the pride and respect we have for our country. This tricolour flag is made by the locals in just 2 days.”

Security Measures

Authorities have tightened security ahead of the celebrations, including vehicle checks on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Udhampur Prahlad Kumar urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the police.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

The Head Post Office in Udhampur also participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Assistant Superintendent of Post, Udhampur Postal Division, Mahesh Singh Jasrotia, encouraged everyone to get a national flag from the post office and be part of the campaign.
