Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Thushara and Dushmantha Chameera Out of India Series Due to Injuries
Colombo, Sri Lanka – Star Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara will miss the upcoming home series against India due to a broken finger. Thushara injured his left hand during training before the start of the white-ball series. The injury was confirmed by Sri Lanka team manager Mahinda Halangoda.
Earlier, Dushmantha Chameera was also ruled out of the series due to bronchitis and a respiratory infection. Asitha Fernando will replace Chameera in the squad for the series starting on July 27.
The series will begin with three T20I matches at the Pallekele International Stadium, followed by three ODI matches at the R Premadasa Stadium starting on August 2. Both teams will have new head coaches, with Sanath Jayasuriya leading Sri Lanka and Gautam Gambhir coaching India.
India’s last tour of Sri Lanka was in July 2021, where they won the ODI series 2-1, but Sri Lanka won the T20I series by the same margin.
