Sri Lanka’s spinner Dunith Wellalage praised his team after their 2-0 series win against India in Colombo. Wellalage took five wickets in the third ODI, leading Sri Lanka to their first series win over India in 27 years.
Speaking after the match, Wellalage thanked his skipper and teammates for their support. He said, “I want to thank my skipper, teammates, and coaching staff. Everyone gave me great support and that’s why I am here. We adjusted to the wicket as it was turning. It was the same as the first two ODIs and committed less mistakes today. The batters did a good job and then the spinners bowled well. Everyone is supporting each other and I am excited to be part of the team.”

In the first inning, India’s bowling attack struggled, with Riyan Parag taking three wickets. During the run chase, Indian batters found it difficult to stay on the crease. Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer with 35 runs. Washington Sundar added 30 runs, but Sri Lanka’s bowlers, including Wellalage, kept the pressure on.
