Six Sri Lankan players have achieved new career-high ratings in the latest ICC Men’s Test Rankings following their victory over England in the third Test match at The Oval. This win marks Sri Lanka’s first Test victory over England away from home.

Top Performers

Skipper Dhananjaya de Silva, middle-order batsman Kamindu Mendis, and opener Pathum Nissanka led the way with the bat. De Silva top-scored for Sri Lanka in the first innings with a stylish 69, earning him a new career-best rating and moving him to 13th overall on the Test rankings for batters. Mendis and Nissanka also achieved career-best ratings, with Mendis moving to 19th and Nissanka jumping 42 spots to 39th.

England’s Standouts

Despite England’s Joe Root holding on to his No. 1 spot, his rating fell from 922 to 899 points. Harry Brook dropped seven places to 12th after low scores, but stand-in skipper Ollie Pope gained seven places to equal 27th following a century. Keeper Jamie Smith also improved, jumping six spots to equal 30th.

Bowler Rankings

Three Sri Lankan bowlers also achieved career-best ratings. Vishwa Fernando moved up 13 spots to equal 31st, Lahiru Kumara climbed 10 places to 32nd, and Milan Rathnayake jumped 26 spots to equal 84th. England’s Olly Stone improved 13 places to 74th.

T20I Rankings

In the latest T20I rankings, Australia’s Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis made significant gains, with Marsh moving to equal 17th and Inglis jumping 28 places to 23rd. Spinner Adam Zampa moved to seventh, while Scotland’s Bradley Currie improved 20 spots to 49th.
