Sri Lanka Women triumphed over India Women by eight wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 final at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Chasing a target of 166 runs, Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samawickrama and Chamari Athapaththu led their team to victory.

India Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, batted first and scored 165/6 in 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana scored 60 runs, Richa Ghosh added 30 runs, and Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 29 runs. For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari took two wickets, while Udeshika Prabodhani, Sachini Nisansala, and Chamari Athapaththu each took one wicket.

In response, Sri Lanka lost opener Vishmi Gunaratne early but recovered with strong performances from Samawickrama and Athapaththu. Athapaththu scored 61 runs before being dismissed by Deepti Sharma. Samawickrama remained unbeaten with 69 runs, and Dilhari added 30 runs to secure the win in the 19th over.
