New Delhi [India], July 19: SpiceJet Airline announced on Friday that a technical outage affecting their systems has been fully resolved. Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh stated, “Our team worked tirelessly to ensure minimal disruption to our passengers’ travel plans, and we are proud to have successfully operated all our scheduled flights today.”

He added, “We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our passengers and stakeholders during this time. The technical outage has been fully resolved, and all our systems are back to normal operations.”

Earlier in the day, Microsoft’s cloud services outage disrupted key services globally, including flight operations, banking, financial services, and hospitals. In India, flight operations were most affected, with many airlines having to cancel or reschedule flights, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Passengers shared their experiences on social media, posting images of handwritten boarding passes issued due to the disruption. The central government was in touch with Microsoft and its associates regarding the outage. Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu assured travelers that the ministry and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) managed the situation using manual methods to minimize disruption.

The Reserve Bank of India reported that only 10 banks and NBFCs experienced minor disruptions due to the Microsoft outage, which have been resolved or are being resolved. CrowdStrike, the security firm linked to the software update causing the outage, confirmed that the issue was isolated and a fix deployed.
