Special Trains Depart from Asansol for Chhath Puja

On Sunday, two special trains left Asansol railway station in West Bengal, carrying thousands of passengers to Patna and Gorakhpur for the Chhath Puja festival. The Indian Railways has arranged these trains to help people return to their hometowns in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh during the festive season.

Passenger Reactions

Passengers praised the initiative, with one saying, “This is a very good initiative by the Railways for the people who will be traveling on the occasion of Chhath Puja.” Another passenger expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness and arrangements, stating, “I am going back home for Chhath Puja. The train arrangements made are very good, and we are very happy that this step was taken by the government.”

Railway Arrangements

Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity for the Railway Board, announced that over 160 trains were operated on Thursday, with plans for more than 170 trains on Sunday. Special arrangements have been made at major stations like New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. The Government Railway Police and Railways Protection Force are managing the crowds, and Rail Sewaks are assisting travelers.

Additional Measures

Additional coaches have been added to the trains, and CCTV cameras are monitoring the stations. Tickets can be booked online and offline, with unreserved seats available for those without confirmed tickets. Special assistance is provided for senior and physically challenged citizens.
