Spain’s Joselu Prepares for EURO 2024 Quarter-Final Against Germany’s Toni Kroos

Stuttgart, Germany – Ahead of the EURO 2024 quarter-final match between Spain and Germany, Spanish striker Joselu emphasized the significance of German midfielder Toni Kroos. In Germany’s previous match against Denmark, Kroos completed 87 passes and created 4 chances, showcasing his pivotal role.

Earlier in May, Kroos announced his retirement from football after the EURO 2024, ending his club career with Real Madrid following their 15th UEFA Champions League win. Joselu expressed hope that Kroos’ last international match would be against Spain on Friday, acknowledging Germany’s dangerous attack.

Joselu stated, “I love Toni [but] I think Friday is his last game. We know the quality he has. He is a key player for Germany but we can’t focus only on him. They are a very dangerous team, above all in attack.” He added that Spain needs to keep a special eye on Kroos to disrupt Germany’s gameplay.

Germany advanced to the quarter-finals by defeating Denmark 2-0, with goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala. Spain secured their spot by beating Georgia 4-1, with goals from Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo.
