Space42 and nybl Launch AI Solution to Boost Oil and Gas Efficiency
In Abu Dhabi, Space42, the UAE’s pioneering AI-powered SpaceTech company, and nybl, a leader in science-based AI, have introduced a groundbreaking satellite-enabled AI solution for the oil and gas industry. This innovative technology aims to enhance the efficiency and productivity of oil wells.
Partnership and Technology
The solution is the first result of a collaboration between nybl and Space42’s satellite mobility arm, Thuraya, under the Yahsat Space Services division. It focuses on developing AI-powered Satellite Communications (SatComs) solutions. Thuraya will deliver these capabilities through the nybl AI platform, n.lift, supporting nybl’s growth strategy and aligning with Space42’s vision to use SpaceTech for industry innovation.
Successful Implementation
Over six months, the certification process was conducted on 27 oil wells using the Thuraya satellite network. The AI module successfully predicted potential failures of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP), reducing production downtime. The solution offers real-time intelligence, lowering operational costs, extending pump lifespan by 20-30%, increasing oil production by 5%, and improving reservoir and energy management.
