South Africa Announces T20I Squad for Home Series Against India
South Africa has revealed their T20I squad for the upcoming home series against India. Aiden Markram will captain the team, which features a powerful middle-order led by David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen. Keshav Maharaj will head the spin department, while Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will strengthen the pace attack.
All-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana has earned his first call-up to the squad after an impressive performance in the CSA T20 Challenge, taking 12 wickets at an average of 14.08. Joining him is uncapped all-rounder Andile Simelane, who was part of the squad that toured the UAE in September.
Kagiso Rabada will be rested for the series, and Lungi Ngidi is focusing on the upcoming home Test series against Sri Lanka. Lutho Sipamla has been added for the third and fourth T20Is, having taken 18 international wickets in his career.
The four-match T20I series will start on November 8 at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium in Durban. The second match will be held at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on November 10, followed by the third at SuperSport Park in Centurion on November 13. The final game will take place at Wanderers Stadium on November 15.
