Six Maoists Killed in Encounter with Police in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem

On September 5, six Maoists were killed in an encounter with police forces in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana. The incident took place in the forest area of Mothe village, about 5 km northwest of Karakagudem Police Station, during a routine patrol.

According to the Superintendent of Police, the Maoists, who were armed cadres of the outlawed CPI (M), opened fire on the police party. Despite warnings to stop, the Maoists continued firing, prompting the police to return fire. After the exchange, police found six bodies dressed in olive green uniforms.

The identities of the deceased Maoists have not yet been established. Police recovered several weapons from the scene, including two AK-47 rifles, one SLR, one .303 rifle, and one pistol, along with magazines, live rounds, kit bags, and other materials.
