Six BRS MLCs Join Congress in Telangana

In Telangana, six members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) from the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) have joined the Congress party. This event took place on Thursday night at the official residence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Who Joined?

The MLCs who switched parties are:

• Dande Vital
• Bhanuprasad Rao
• MS Prabhakar
• Boggaparu Dayanand
• Egge Mallesham

They joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, AICC in-charge for Telangana Deepa Munshi, and state minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

Background

After a significant loss in the Assembly election earlier this year, many BRS leaders, including MLAs, have been joining the ruling Congress party. On June 28, BRS MLA from Chevella, Kale Yadaiah, joined Congress in Delhi. Earlier, Jagtial BRS MLA Sanjay Kumar also joined Congress at the Chief Minister’s residence. Other BRS leaders like Kadiyam Srihari, Danam Nagender, Tellam Venkat Rao, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy had also joined Congress earlier.
