Six people arrested in connection with the NEET-UG exam irregularities were examined at LNJP Hospital in Patna, Bihar. The Bihar Police arrested them in Jharkhand’s Deoghar on June 21.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is now investigating the case. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET-UG exam on May 5, 2024, and has faced criticism for alleged cheating and malpractices.

The Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee led by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO, to recommend reforms to improve the examination process and data security. The committee will submit its report in two months.

The government has enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, to prevent cheating in public exams and ensure the integrity of the examination process.
