Six Arrested for Alleged Assault in Raigarh on Rakshabandhan Eve
In Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, police have arrested six people for their involvement in an alleged sexual assault under the Pusaur Police station area. The incident took place on the eve of Rakshabandhan when a group of youths allegedly abducted a woman and took her near a pond to assault her.
According to Raigarh Superintendent of Police, Divyang Patel, the woman was on her way to attend a festival in Raigarh when the incident occurred. The assault happened twenty kilometers away from the district headquarters. The woman managed to reach her home and informed her family, who then lodged a complaint at Pusaur police station on August 20.
Patel stated, “As soon as we were informed of the incident, we registered a case, formed an investigating team to probe the matter, and we have arrested the six accused.” The police confirmed that a medical examination of the woman was conducted as per protocol and that her condition is stable now.
