In Jamtara, Jharkhand, BJP leader Sita Soren expressed her distress over comments made by Congress leader Irfan Ansari. Ansari, who is contesting against Soren in the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, called her a “rejected” and “borrowed” player. Sita Soren, widow of Durga Soren, a key figure in the Jharkhand state movement, criticized Ansari’s remarks and demanded accountability from the INDIA bloc, of which Ansari is a part.

Sita Soren stated that the tribal community has decided to bar Ansari from entering their villages. She emphasized the hurt caused to her community and women by Ansari’s comments. The BJP has filed a complaint with the Election Commission, and an FIR has been registered against Ansari for his derogatory remarks.

Union Minister Annapurna Devi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condemned Ansari’s statements, criticizing Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for not taking action. The BJP, in alliance with AJSU, JD(U), and LJP, will contest the upcoming elections, with voting scheduled for November 13 and 20, and results on November 23.
