Simran Sharma Wins Bronze in Paris Paralympics 200m T12 Final

India para-athlete Simran Sharma delivered her personal best performance to win the bronze medal in the women’s 200m T12 final at the Paris Paralympics. She clocked a time of 24.75s to secure the third spot.

Simran had narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in the women’s 100m T12 final by just 0.05s. In the 200m T12 final, Cuba’s Omara Durand Elias won the gold medal with a time of 23.62s, and Venezuela’s Alejandra Perez Lopez took silver with a time of 24.19s.

In her previous event, Simran reached the women’s 100m T12 final but finished last among the four finalists with a time of 12.31s. Omara Durand Elias won gold in this event as well, with a time of 11.81s. Ukraine’s Oksana Boturchuk and Germany’s Katrin Mueller-Rottgardt won silver and bronze, respectively.

Meanwhile, India’s Dilip Mahadu Gavit finished eighth in the men’s 400m T46 final with a time of 49.99s. Morocco’s Aymane El Haddaoui won gold with a new World Record of 46.65s.

India’s Navdeep initially secured a silver medal in the men’s javelin F41 final, but it was upgraded to gold after Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified. Navdeep’s best throw was 47.32m.

India has now won a total of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympics, including six gold, 10 silver, and 13 bronze.
