Simi Rose Bell John Expelled from Congress for Remarks Against Women Leaders

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], September 1: Simi Rose Bell John, a former member of the Congress party and the Public Service Commission (PSC), was expelled from the party on Sunday. This decision came after she made derogatory remarks against women leaders of the Congress in a TV interview.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) General Secretary M Liju announced that KPCC President K Sudhakaran had expelled Simi Rose Bell John from the party’s primary membership. The KPCC stated that her accusations were intended to mentally harass and defame many women leaders and workers in the Congress movement, allegedly in collusion with political adversaries.

Women leaders from the KPCC Political Affairs Committee, KPCC office bearers, and the Mahila Congress State President had requested the KPCC leadership to take action against her. The party concluded that her actions were a serious breach of discipline, leading to her expulsion.

In response, Simi Rose Bell John held a news conference in Kochi, where she criticized Congress Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan. She claimed that women of dignity, pride, and nobility could not work in the Congress party and challenged the party to provide evidence of the allegations against her.

KPCC President K Sudhakaran dismissed her allegations as baseless and confirmed that the KPCC would investigate the complaint filed by the Mahila Congress against Simi Rose Bell John.
