Siddhant Vittal Patil goes missing in US.

Washington, DC [US], July 13: Siddhant Vittal Patil, a young techie from Pune living in California, went missing on July 6 after falling into Avalanche Creek in Glacier National Park, Montana. He was hiking with seven friends when he slipped or lost his balance on a large rock and was swept away by the current.

According to his uncle, Pritesh Chaudhari, Siddhant briefly resurfaced before being carried into the gorge. Aerial searches by ALERT helicopters and ground searches by over 10 rangers have been conducted, but only some personal items have been found downstream. The strong currents in the creek have made it impossible to search the gorge.

Park officials stated that the water level in the creek is too high for rangers to enter, and it may take weeks or months for the search to resume. Siddhant’s family, including his maternal uncle Prem Bhandari, is urging authorities to intensify search efforts and consider hiring private rangers. The family is in extreme grief and seeking closure.
