Shooting at Donald Trump’s Rally in Pennsylvania: FBI Investigates
Washington, DC [US], July 14: A shooting at former US President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday has raised concerns about political violence. The incident occurred while Trump was on stage in Butler, Pennsylvania. Secret Service agents quickly escorted him off the stage, with blood visible on his face. One attendee was killed, and two others were critically injured. The gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was also killed by Secret Service agents.
According to the FBI, the shooting is being treated as an attempted assassination. FBI special agent Kevin Rojek stated that the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into any potential failures and improvements for future security measures. Lt Col George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police mentioned that the victims were adult men and that their families have been notified.
Donald Trump, in his first account of the incident, said the bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear. He thanked the Secret Service and law enforcement for their rapid response and offered condolences to the families of the victims. In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his shock and gratitude, stating, “It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. GOD BLESS AMERICA.”
The FBI has urged anyone with information to assist with the investigation by submitting photos or videos online or calling their hotline.
