Shivraj Singh Chouhan Responds to Rahul Gandhi’s Claims About Defeating BJP in Gujarat
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 7: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks about defeating the BJP in Gujarat. Chouhan accused Gandhi of “speaking lies and spreading confusion” among the people.
On July 6, Rahul Gandhi stated that the Congress party and its allies in the INDIA bloc would defeat the BJP in the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, similar to their victory in Ayodhya during the Lok Sabha polls. Gandhi, addressing party workers in Ahmedabad, mentioned that the BJP lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, which includes Ayodhya, in the recent elections.
Chouhan criticized Gandhi, saying, “Rahul Gandhi has not gained maturity…He lied about Agniveers and the government not giving MSP to farmers…He knows nothing apart from speaking lies and spreading confusion.”
Gandhi also referred to the movement started by former BJP chief LK Advani, who conducted a rath yatra in 1990 to gather support for building a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The BJP has stated that the yatra aimed to address debates on “secularism” and “communalism” and to reject the “cult of minorityism.”
Rahul Gandhi concluded by saying, “Together we are going to defeat them in Gujarat. We will defeat Narendra Modi and BJP in Gujarat just like we defeated them in Ayodhya.” The Gujarat Assembly elections are scheduled for 2027.
