In Ranchi, Jharkhand, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is also the BJP’s election in-charge for the state, expressed his satisfaction with the seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming assembly elections. He confidently stated that the NDA would form the government in Jharkhand.

Chouhan announced that the BJP will contest the elections in alliance with the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) (JDU), and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). According to the agreement, AJSU will contest 10 seats, JDU will contest 2 seats, LJP will contest the lone seat of Chatra, and BJP will contest the remaining 68 seats.

He emphasized the importance of ending the current rule of the INDI bloc’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress. The Election Commission has scheduled the assembly polls in Jharkhand for November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23. The state has 2.60 crore eligible voters, including 11.84 lakh first-time voters.

In the previous 2020 assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, BJP won 25, and Congress won 16. In 2014, BJP secured 37 seats, JMM 19, and Congress 6.
