Shiv Sena’s Rahool N Kanal Criticizes Priyanka Chaturvedi Over Comments on CM Eknath Shinde
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 22: Shiv Sena Social Media Head Rahool N Kanal criticized Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi for mocking Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kanal called Chaturvedi a “social media addict” and accused her of contributing to the destruction of the Shiv Sena party, originally created by Balasaheb Thackeray.
In a series of posts on X, Kanal said, “Being drunk on power without power must be painful. People like you contributed to the destruction of the party created by Balasaheb Thackeray. Do something more constructive with your time. Social media ‘addiction’ is not healthy! Your sheer frustration after being unable to negotiate an entry into our party is understandable.”
This statement came after Chaturvedi posted a video on social media mocking CM Eknath Shinde’s speech. In the video, Shinde praised the state government’s efforts towards women’s safety, citing a case where the accused was hanged within two months due to the government’s swift actions.
This exchange between the Sena factions follows the alleged sexual assault of two girls at a school in Badlapur. The Bombay High Court took suo motu cognizance of the incident amid violent protests. On August 17, Maharashtra police arrested a school attendant for allegedly abusing the girls, triggering massive outrage in Badlapur.
