Shiv Sena’s Demand for Three Pune Assembly Seats in Upcoming Elections

Shiv Sena’s Demand for Three Pune Assembly Seats

In the upcoming state elections, the Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is seeking three of Pune’s eight assembly constituencies. Despite not having any current MLAs in Pune, Shiv Sena’s city President, Pramod Bhangire, stated that the party has strengthened its organization and cadre. Bhangire, who is interested in the Hadapsar constituency, urged Chief Minister Shinde to consider their demand for Hadapsar, Wadgaon Sheri, and Khadakwasla constituencies.

Current Political Landscape in Pune

Historically, Shiv Sena had a presence in Pune with two MLAs in 2009, but the party split later. Currently, the BJP holds five seats in Pune: Parvati, Kothrud, Shivajinagar, Pune Cantonment, and Khadakwasla. The NCP holds two seats, Wadgaon Sheri and Hadapsar, while Congress holds one seat, Kasba.

Refuting Media Claims

Earlier media reports suggested that Shiv Sena had no claims on Pune’s assembly seats, which was refuted by Pramod Bhangire, emphasizing their claim on at least three seats.
