Shiv Sena-UBT’s Anand Dubey Criticizes Maharashtra’s Law and Order After Pune Incident

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Shiv Sena-UBT spokesperson Anand Dubey expressed his concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He attributed this to the inattention of State Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. His comments followed a distressing incident where a 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three unknown individuals in Pune’s Bopdev Ghat area on Thursday night, as reported by the Kondwa police.

Dubey criticized the government for being “careless” and allowing criminals to act without fear, even during the sacred festival of Navratri. He stated, “In Maharashtra, the law and order situation has collapsed because the HM and CM are not paying any attention to law and order. The incident that has just come from Kondwa in Pune late last night is that a 21-year-old girl was gang-raped by 3 unknown people… It means that the criminals have no fear of the law. The government is careless, there is no such thing as law and order in the government. The criminals are roaming around fearlessly, that too on the holy festival of Navratri.”

Adding to the criticism, NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule expressed her regret over the incident, noting it was the second such occurrence in her constituency. She condemned the state’s law and order, labeling it a failure of the “triple-engine government” and called for the resignation of Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Sule remarked, “With great regret, I would like to say that this is the second such incident in my constituency… The law and order of Maharashtra have failed in every way… Everyday we come across such cases. Pune has become the crime capital of the state… This is a failure of the triple-engine government in the state… The Home Ministry does not issue any statements after such crimes… The state home minister should resign.”

The incident occurred when the victim, accompanied by a friend, visited the ghat and was allegedly attacked around 11 pm. The crime was reported to the police at approximately 5 am on Friday. Pune Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma stated that ten teams from the Crime Branch and Detective Branch have been deployed to search for and arrest the suspects.
