Shiv Sena Leader Priyanka Chaturvedi Speaks on Tragic Deaths of UPSC Aspirants in Delhi

In a tragic incident in West Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar, three UPSC aspirants lost their lives in a flooded basement of an IAS coaching center. Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed her concerns about the incident, criticizing the infrastructure and calling it a ‘murder’ due to negligence.

Priyanka Chaturvedi’s Statement

Chaturvedi highlighted the burden of taxation on common people and the unresolved issues of unemployment. She stated, “The way taxation has been decided has put more burden on the common people, there has been no relaxation from inflation and the issue of unemployment has not been addressed yet. The whole infrastructure collapse is very unfortunate. Children leave their homes and come to study here. The death of the three students due to the water filled in the basement is very unfortunate. This is not a death; it is a murder.”

Accountability and Action

Chaturvedi questioned the accountability of authorities, including the Lieutenant Governor (LG), and called for responsibility from all levels. She said, “My question is to the LG on why he was not aware of the situations there and why did he not take any action. What will the families do with the compensation? Accountability should be taken right from the LG to the workers and all these BJP members should be held responsible.”

Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sealed the basements of 13 coaching centers in Karol Bagh for violating building by-laws. Mayor Shelly Oberoi directed strict action against illegally operating coaching centers. The Delhi Police arrested seven individuals, including the owner and coordinator of the coaching center, on charges of culpable homicide.
