Shiv Sena Criticizes PM Modi’s Independence Day Speech

Shiv Sena (UBT), through its mouthpiece Saamana, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, calling it ‘boring’ and more suited for an election campaign.

The editorial stated, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people associated with him were never serious about the country’s Independence. That is why his speech from the Red Fort on Independence Day was boring. He gave a speech that should have been given in an election campaign rally.’

Saamana also accused Modi of disrespecting the army and security forces by not mentioning the Kargil war and other significant military events. The editorial praised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her bravery and sacrifice, contrasting it with Modi’s failure to address the ongoing violence in Manipur.

The editorial further questioned Modi’s contributions over the past decade, suggesting that his tenure has been marked by constitutional and democratic issues. It highlighted that before Modi, the country made significant progress in various fields without getting into religious disputes.

‘PM Modi and his devotees have the reins of an advanced and developed country in their hands, but what new have they done in the last ten years apart from giving us a leaking Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Parliament that leaked ‘vigorously’? The work of breaking the Indian Constitution, putting pressure on the courts and central agencies and strangling democracy and opposition parties has been done under him,’ the editorial stated.
