Shiv Sena and NCP MPs Meet Prime Minister Modi in Delhi
Newly elected MPs from the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. They congratulated him on his third consecutive term and wished him well for his future endeavors.
Discussions on Maharashtra’s Development
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi discussed development work in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena MPs brought up various issues concerning the state. The delegation also presented PM Modi with a statue of Vitthal Rakhumai.

Prime Minister Modi encouraged the MPs to play a positive and active role in Parliament during their half-hour discussion.
BJP’s Plans for Maharashtra Assembly Elections
After the Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) core committee meeting, state president Ashish Shelar announced that the BJP will contest the upcoming assembly polls with its Mahayuti allies. A road map for the elections was decided, and a proposal appreciating the state budget was passed.
Mahayuti Alliance
The Mahayuti alliance includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the BJP, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. The Maharashtra Assembly elections will elect 288 members of the state’s legislative assembly.
State Budget Presentation
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented the state budget during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
Recent Election Results
In the recent elections, the BJP won nine seats in Maharashtra, down from 23 in 2019. The Congress secured 13 seats, while the Shiv Sena and NCP won seven and one seats, respectively. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackrey) got nine seats, and the NCP – Sharadchandra Pawar won eight seats.
