UAE’s First AI-Optimised Data Centre Launched in Ajman

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, has launched the UAE’s first AI-optimised data centre, the largest in its portfolio. This significant event took place at GITEX Global in Dubai, with Khazna Data Centres (Khazna) making the announcement.

Details of the New Data Centre

Located in Ajman, the 100MW data centre is the first of its kind in the region, reinforcing Khazna’s position as a leader in AI innovation. The centre is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2025, with a multi-billion-dirham investment aimed at boosting the local economy and creating jobs in AI.

Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, announced the launch in the presence of Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Yousif Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE. Alnaqbi stated, “The launch of our 100MW AI-optimised data centre is a testament to Khazna’s strong growth and reflects the UAE’s readiness to lead in AI innovation.”

Features and Benefits

The 100,000 square meter facility will feature 20 data halls, each with a 5 MW capacity. The tier 3 data centre will be the first AI data centre in the region, designed to meet the high computing power and scalability requirements of AI. Etihad Water and Electricity Company will supply electricity, and the centre will focus on energy efficiency with advanced cooling techniques and modular designs.
