On October 24, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, visited Al Ibdaa’ Model School in Al Twar-1, Dubai. The school was awarded ‘Best School’ in the 8th Arab Reading Challenge.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the crucial role of schools in shaping young minds and instilling values. He urged educators to inspire students to read, as it opens new pathways to success.

Award and Recognition

Al Ibdaa’ Model School received an AED1 million prize for its efforts in promoting reading. The school was selected from 229,000 schools across 50 countries. Sheikh Mohammed’s visit highlights his commitment to education and fostering a culture of reading.

School Achievements

Established in 1993, Al Ibdaa’ School has implemented 48 projects, with students reading 25,000 books in a year. The school offers a diverse curriculum, including Arabic, English, and Chinese. It has won several awards, including the Emirates Development Award and the Khalifa Educational Award.

The 2024 Arab Reading Challenge, organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, saw participation from over 28 million students worldwide.
