In Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, led a significant aid collection drive at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event was part of the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign, aimed at supporting the people of Lebanon.

Massive Participation and Contributions

The event saw the participation of 2,287 volunteers from various backgrounds, resulting in the collection of 150 tonnes of food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment. This was the second such event in Abu Dhabi within two weeks.

Notable Attendees

Alongside Sheikh Hamdan were his children and several dignitaries, including Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. Other notable figures included Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Abdulhamid Mohammed Al Ahmad, and Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri.

Commitment to Humanitarian Efforts

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the campaign’s emphasis on social solidarity and coordination, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian causes. He noted that the campaign embodies the spirit of brotherhood and human values, inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Campaign Achievements

Since its launch on October 8, 2024, the campaign has amassed 1,100 tonnes of relief materials. Under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the supervision of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has sent 13 relief planes to Lebanon, delivering 560 tonnes of essential supplies.
