He accused her government of failing to protect women and girls from crime and not delivering justice.
Poonawalla highlighted a tragic incident where a young girl from West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district was raped and murdered on her way home from tuition. He claimed that the local police station, Kultali PS, refused to file a complaint to avoid upsetting Home Minister Mamata Banerjee.
In a social media post, Poonawalla alleged that the West Bengal government supports criminal activities and those accused of rape. He mentioned several cases, including one in the Kripa Khali area, where an 11-year-old girl was brutally attacked. He accused the police of not taking complaints due to political interests and to manipulate crime data.
Poonawalla called for Mamata Banerjee to step down, stating that her government prioritizes protecting criminals over ensuring the safety of women.
