Sharjah Chamber Showcases Emirati Food at SIAL Paris 2024

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), participated in the SIAL Paris 2024, a major international food and beverage trade show held in Paris, France, from October 19th to 23rd. The event featured around 7,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries, attracting thousands of visitors globally.

The Sharjah Chamber represented the Emirate of Sharjah with a pavilion that included government and private institutions, as well as major national factories specializing in food products. The aim was to enhance Sharjah’s international presence, promote local food industries, and attract foreign investments.

The Chamber’s delegation included Abdul Rahman Al Jasmi, Head of Exporter Services and Market Management Section, and Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, Head of Investor Services Section. Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector, highlighted that this was the Chamber’s third consecutive participation in the event over the past six years.

The participation aligns with SCCI’s strategic vision to develop Sharjah’s food industry, enhance UAE food product competitiveness, and support sustainable food security. The pavilion showcased high-quality Emirati products like dates, honey, dairy, and beverages, attracting significant interest from international stakeholders.

Meetings between local manufacturers and international counterparts were held, fostering potential collaborations in the global food sector.
